Siffleur Mountain

Approximately 100 km north-west of Banff, elevation 3129 m.

This mountain was named by James Hector (see Mount Hector) after the siffleur, also known as the whistling marmot. This small mammal, no bigger than the common badger of the plains, inhabits crevices in the rock and possesses a very shrill whistle.
