Lac Beauvert

Lake
83 D

Approximately 1 km east of Jasper.

Due to its shape, this lake was originally called "Horseshoe Lake". To avoid duplication, the name was changed to describe the "beautiful green" colouring ranging through every tone from pale aquamarine to jade and malachite. In 1914, H. Matheson, of the Dominion Land Survey suggested Lac Beauvert.
