Catacombs Mountain

Mountain
83 C

Approximately 55 km south-east of Jasper, elevation 3330 m.

This mountain was named in 1921 by Arthur O. Wheeler, a surveyor on the Alberta-British Columbia Boundary Commission, and first president of the Alpine Club of Canada. The feature has an alcove formation, likened to an underground burial tomb containing such recesses.
