Carstairs

Town
82 O

Approximately 82 km south south-west of Red Deer.

A railway station was established here on the Calgary and Edmonton line between 1891 and 1893. The post office opened in September 1900, both named after Carstairs, Lanarkshire (now Strathclyde) in Scotland. This was either an applied name, (see Banff), or, some of the first settlers were of Scottish descent.
