Burmis

Locality
82 G

Located approximately 5 km southeast of Bellevue.

Burmis is a combination of the parts of the first two surnames on a petition sent to the federal government to change the name of the "flag-stop" from Livingstone in 1906. It is derived from the names of two ranchers, Robert H. Burns, whose ranch was located 13 km east of Livingstone station and Jack Kemmis, whose ranch was located northwest of Corwley, that the name of Burmis was born.
