Bighorn Range

Range
83 C

Approximately 160 km west of Red Deer.

The name for this range is a translation of an aboriginal name; in earlier days, these mountains were noted hunting grounds for the Rocky Mountain Sheep or Bighorn sheep. The name is first found on Palliser's map of 1865.
